A tropical grassland, internationally known for the largest concentration of blackbuck, is now famous for the largest population of harriers in the world during winter, and also for one of the largest breeding populations of the lesser florican in monsoon. Nowadays this park is also getting famous for the daytime sighting of striped hyena, a nocturnal and shy creature. The park has a sizeable population of Indian wolf which is also the top predator in this park. The other species of interest are: bluebulls, golden jackal, jungle cat and Indian fox. The park hosts 200 around 200 species of birds and considered as the largest roosting ground of four species of harriers: western marsh, montagu’s, hen and pallid harrier.
